There you were, standing in the rain.
I thought you were someone random,
Fool enough to get caught outside
Without a cover in a storm.
Then you looked up, despite the rain
That kept getting into your eyes.
By the window, looking, yearning;
I almost thought I was only dreaming.
Until you smiled, waved, and angled
Your head to face the lamppost light.
Your handsome face, your hair tangled –
You are the most beautiful sight.
I could feel my heart skip a beat.
Time slowed and the world stopped turning.
“The hell are you just standing there?”
I chuckled and let down my hair.
You just had to call out my name.
